Jefferson-based, Braselton-focused

A Braselton backyard, planned around how you host

From our home base in Jefferson, we serve Braselton as a full outdoor living contractor. Much of the ground here rolls, and the soil is dense red clay. A licensed landscape architect works out the slope and drainage along with the Town's rules, then walks you through the finished design in 3D.

Custom pools for estate lots

A custom pool, hot tub, and pool deck with room for the whole party. Your Braselton pool builder handles the Town's own pool permit.

Kitchens for hosting nights

A Belgard grill island in stacked stone keeps the cook with the guests. In Chateau Elan and Mulberry Park, we prepare the HOA drawings.

Decks facing the fairway

A composite deck with cable rail keeps the golf course view open. Your Braselton deck builder files the Town's building permit.

Decks & under-deck systems
Tiered retaining walls and central stairs framing planted garden beds

Level room for the pool

A retaining wall creates level space for the pool terrace and lawn. We engineer walls over 4 feet and file the Town permit.

Picture it finished

Your Chateau Elan backyard with the whole crew over

Your deck looks out over the fairway, and wide stone steps lead down to the pool, where a raised hot tub spills in. The grill island sits right beside the water.

Your golf group finishes the round and heads straight to your place. Someone cancels a dinner reservation in town, and the party moves to the terrace.

How the house gets used now

  • Morning swims before your tee time.
  • Out-of-town family stays an extra night.
  • The cook stays in the conversation at the island.
  • Everyone ends up on the deck watching the fairway at dusk.

Braselton neighborhoods

How Braselton neighborhoods shape each design

The town reaches into four counties, so the rules and the access change from one neighborhood to the next.

Explore Braselton on the map

Chateau Elan off GA-211

This guard-gated golf community near Exit 126 has estate lots over an acre. We plan crew access through the gate and prepare drawings for HOA review.

Mulberry Park

Built between 2002 and 2020 on the Gwinnett County side of town, it sits inside town limits. Your permit goes through the Town, and plans go to the HOA.

Riverstone Park off Ednaville Road

Homes here date from 2005 to 2016, so many backyards are ready for a first real upgrade. We build on established lawns and add patios, walls, or lighting.

Along the Mulberry River

Lots near the river and its creeks carry a protected buffer under Town and state law. We confirm that line with the Town and keep your project outside it.

Braselton wall rules

When a Braselton retaining wall needs a permit

The Town requires a Public Works Director permit for any wall taller than 4 feet. A shorter wall needs one too when the ground behind it slopes steeper than 1:3 or it carries a load above. We engineer every wall over 4 feet and bring the paperwork to the Town.

Why Sugar Hill Outdoors

The team behind every Braselton build

As a Braselton outdoor living contractor, we've designed and built across North Georgia since 1997.

Landscape architects design each yard

We have two licensed landscape architects, a title Georgia protects. Your drawings are permit-ready, and you keep them.

One license covers everything

Pool, electrical, masonry, and planting share one residential and light commercial license, and one person manages it all for you.

Belgard's first Atlanta Master Craftsman

Belgard awards it for a documented record of finished installations. Ours was the first one issued in Atlanta.

You pay as phases finish

Payments line up with completed stages, so each draw matches work already built on your property.

Braselton building questions, answered

What Braselton homeowners ask us most before they commit.

Yes, if the wall stands over 4 feet. Walls under 4 feet need one too when the backfill slopes steeper than 1:3 or the wall supports a load. The Town's Public Works Director issues it, and we handle the application.

Yes. The Town has its own pool permit application, and as your Braselton pool contractor, we schedule the inspections by email. Georgia code sets the pool barrier at a minimum of 48 inches, with gates that close and latch on their own.

Both have homeowners associations, so plan on a review before building. We prepare scaled drawings for the submission, and in Chateau Elan we schedule crew entry at the gate.

Inside town limits, the Town's general building permit, under Georgia's statewide building codes. Parcels outside the limits file with their county. As your Braselton deck contractor, we handle either one.

Inside town limits, the Town of Braselton Planning and Development Department issues permits. Braselton spans Jackson, Barrow, Gwinnett, and Hall counties, and parcels outside the limits go to their county. We confirm your office before design is final.

Look for a pool contractor whose licensed landscape architects design the whole yard in 3D, with one contract for every trade. We've built about 60 pools since 2010, and you pay by milestone as phases finish.

Often, yes. A slope can become a tiered pool with a retaining wall behind it, and a waterfall can spill from the wall into the water. Our landscape architects design the pool and wall together.

Our custom pools typically start at $200 per square foot. Outdoor kitchens range from about $5,000 to $100,000. Your deck contractor prices a pressure-treated deck at $32 to $48 per square foot, and composite decking with pressure-treated railings runs $48 to $60. Most full outdoor living spaces fall between $30,000 and $40,000.
