How it started

A treehouse turned into eleven HGTV episodes

Architect Paul Hamby recommended Sugar Hill Outdoors to build a treehouse for Chip Wade, the licensed contractor and host of HGTV’s Elbow Room. Cameras were already rolling during the very first site visit, before anyone on the crew expected the project to turn into a television segment. That treehouse became eleven outdoor episodes across three seasons, each one designed and built by the same team behind every Sugar Hill Outdoors project. Sugar Hill Outdoors continues to collaborate with Wade Works Creative on projects beyond the show.
