What we do

The sound of moving water, close to home

Water features bring sound and movement to your yard. Clint Tucker has been building them since 1994, starting with Cla Allgood at Wakoola Water Gardens and Allgood Outdoors. His work spans small residential koi ponds to large waterfalls for neighborhood amenity areas.

What we build

Koi ponds and waterfalls, built into your land

As your koi pond contractor, we shape every feature around the natural lay of your land.

Residential koi ponds

A koi pond sized for your yard and placed so you can enjoy its sound and beauty up close.

Ponds with waterfalls

A pond and waterfall designed to fit the shape of your property and take advantage of its natural topography.

Amenity area waterfalls

Large waterfalls built for neighborhood amenity areas, where everyone who lives there can enjoy them.

Why Sugar Hill Outdoors

The experience behind our water features

Clint Tucker learned the trade in what he calls the hands-on school of pond building, and he's been a pond builder ever since.

Building ponds since 1994

Clint started with Cla Allgood at Wakoola Water Gardens, three years before Sugar Hill Outdoors opened in 1997.

Placed for year-round views

We position each feature so you can see it from several angles inside your home, through winter and on rainy days.

Designed by landscape architects

Two licensed landscape architects on our staff shape each design to your property's natural topography before digging starts.

One contract, phased payments

One general contractor's license covers your whole project, and you pay as each phase of the build is finished.

How we build your pond and waterfall

Every project follows the same three steps, from the first walk of your property to flowing water.

01 / DISCOVER

Consultation

A licensed landscape architect walks your property and studies its natural topography to find where the water will look and sound its best.

02 / DESIGN

Design

You see your pond and waterfall in 3D, shaped to your property and placed so you can enjoy it from inside your home, too.

03 / BUILD

Installation

A typical residential pond takes three to four days to build. Larger ponds can take about a month, sometimes longer.

Water feature cost

What custom water features cost

Typical pricing

  • Most ponds and waterfalls: start around $5,000
  • Your exact price: set by the final design for your property

Featured project

Two koi ponds above a quarter-acre pond

One of Clint's favorite projects, and one he led, was in Atlanta for a prominent business owner. Two large koi ponds with waterfalls flow into a quarter-acre pond below, with a bog garden section and two more waterfalls. A garden path winds through it all, landscaped like a botanical garden.

Your water feature questions, answered

Here's what homeowners ask most before their water feature goes in.

Most ponds and waterfalls we build start around $5,000. Your final design shapes the rest. Your consultation and design set the exact price for your property.

Yes. Clint has worked as a koi pond contractor since 1994, building everything from small residential koi ponds to two large koi ponds with waterfalls above a quarter-acre pond in Atlanta. Each one is shaped to the land it sits on.

Yes. Every project starts with your land's natural topography, and we fit the design to the shape of your property. Your slope becomes part of the design.

Yes. Clint's work includes small residential koi ponds, sized to the space you have. A small pond gets the same placement planning as a large one, so you can enjoy it up close and from inside your home.

A typical residential pond takes three to four days to build, and sometimes less. Larger ponds can take about a month, sometimes longer. We set your timeline once your design is final.

Close enough to enjoy the sound and beauty of the water up close, and visible from several angles inside your home. We plan both during design, so you enjoy your water features in winter and on rainy days as much as on summer evenings.

Red clay across North Georgia drains slowly, and that shapes how a pond holds water and keeps its edges. We start with your property's natural topography, then grade the site and set the liner to work with the clay. That planning helps your pond hold its shape.

Clint learned the trade on the job, in what he calls the hands-on school of pond building. He started in 1994 with Cla Allgood at Wakoola Water Gardens and Allgood Outdoors, and he has built ponds and waterfalls of every size since.
