Serving Woodstock

Upgrading the Woodstock backyard you already have

Sugar Hill Outdoors is an outdoor living contractor in Woodstock, GA, where neighborhoods like Eagle Watch went up between 1988 and 2007. Decks and patios from those years are often due for replacement. A licensed landscape architect visits, and you review the new design in 3D first.

Picture it finished

A Towne Lake backyard, finished top to bottom

Picture the new deck off the kitchen, covered and lit, with the grill island just down the steps. Past it is the pool, and the kids refuse to get out.

Below the deck, the dry room holds the overflow when half of Towne Lake shows up. A fire pit on the patio keeps everyone out long after dinner.

A Saturday in the new yard

  • Coffee on the covered deck, a swim by lunch.
  • Burgers come off the grill island steps from the pool.
  • The room under the deck stays dry when storms roll in.
  • Friends from the swim club ask who built it.

Around Woodstock

What your Woodstock neighborhood means for the build

Your part of Woodstock decides a lot about what you can build.

Explore Woodstock on the map

Towne Lake and Eagle Watch

Eagle Watch alone holds over 1,300 homes built from 1988 to 2007, all under an active HOA. We plan deck and patio replacements and prepare the review package.

Bells Ferry Road by Allatoona

Lake neighborhoods here back up to Corps of Engineers land. Your patio and steps are built on your side of the federal line, facing the water.

Arnold Mill corridor

Bigger lots, lighter covenants, and some equestrian parcels leave room for larger footprints. We plan layout and crew access across the acreage.

Downtown Woodstock

Near the depot and Main Street, the city sends projects over $2,500 through planning and zoning review. We prepare those plans with your permit.

Along Noonday Creek

Creekside lots carry protected stream buffers. Your outdoor room is placed upslope, clear of the buffer and its setback.

Checking your jurisdiction

A Woodstock mailing address can sit in unincorporated Cherokee County. We run the city's address lookup and file with the right office.

Lakeside lots

Building near Lake Allatoona from Woodstock

Lake Allatoona is a Corps of Engineers reservoir, and the federal government owns its shoreline. Most lakeside yards stop at a boundary short of the water, and work on Corps land takes a Shoreline Use Permit. We design your patio, steps, and lighting within your property line, facing the lake.

A neighbor's view of our crew

“This company worked on my neighbors property last week. They did a good job, respect to the rest of us in the neighborhood, etc... They were back at my door the next business day and corrected the issue.”

Woodstock outdoor living, answered

Questions we hear from Woodstock homeowners planning a backyard.

Look for licensed landscape architects who design your custom pool in 3D, with one contract covering every trade. We've built about 60 pools since 2010, and each payment follows finished work.

Yes, on your side of the Corps boundary. The federal government owns the shoreline, and most lakeside lots stop short of the water. Anything on Corps land, like mowing or a dock, needs a Shoreline Use Permit. We place your pool, patio, and steps to face the lake.

Yes. Eagle Watch homes date from 1988 to 2007, so many original decks are due. As your Woodstock deck contractor, we remove the old structure, rebuild in pressure-treated or composite decking, and can add an under-deck system that keeps the space below dry.

In unincorporated Cherokee County, at least 5 feet, with a continuous barrier and a self-latching gate set out of children's reach. Inside Woodstock city limits, we confirm the city's rule before design. As your Woodstock pool contractor, we plan the pool and barrier together.

Inside city limits, projects over $2,500 go through planning and zoning review. That covers most decks, patios, and walls. We prepare the drawings and handle the review along with your building permit.

In unincorporated Cherokee County, streams carry a 50-foot undisturbed buffer, plus a 25-foot setback kept free of hard surfaces. The Little River carries 150 feet. For city parcels, we confirm Woodstock's own rules and design your space upslope of the line.

Plan on it. Eagle Watch and other Towne Lake communities run active HOAs with swim and tennis amenities, and exterior changes usually go through review. We supply scaled drawings and a 3D view, so your application arrives complete.

Pressure-treated decking with pressure-treated railings runs $32 to $48 per square foot. Composite boards on pressure-treated railings run $48 to $60. Railings range from $45 to $175 per linear foot. Your deck contractor finalizes the number at the consultation.
